The manufacturing of frameless glass doors mainly relies on the precise assembly of tempered glass and metal components. Its core lies in the "frameless" design, using clips, decorative frames, or floor springs to fix the 8-12mm thick tempered glass door leaf, achieving a completely transparent and minimalist visual effect.
Key Steps in Manufacturing and Installation:
Layout and Positioning: After other interior work is basically completed, layout and positioning are carried out uniformly to determine the door frame position. Accurate measurements of the ground and the top elevation of the door frame are taken to ensure precise installation benchmarks.
Installation of Top Limiting Groove and Base Support:
Draw the edge line of the metal decorative panel according to the center line, and install the top limiting groove of the door frame. The groove width should be 2-4mm greater than the glass thickness, and the groove depth 20-30mm to allow for glue application.
Install the wooden base support with metal trim. This can be done by pre-embedding wooden blocks and nailing square timber or using expansion bolts, and then attaching the metal trim panel with universal adhesive.
Erecting the Door Frame: Nail the square timber for the door frame according to the marked center line. Use plywood to determine the shape, dimensions, and position. When covering the metal trim, ensure the joints are aligned and vertical.
Glass Installation: Use glass suction cups to hold the 8-12mm tempered glass. Have 2-3 people work together to lift and erect it. Insert the top into the limiting groove and place the bottom on the base, aligning it with the center line. Ensure both sides seal the metal trim joints, making the seams invisible from both inside and out.
Glass Fixing and Sealing: Nail two flat wooden strips to the base to clamp the glass, leaving a gap of approximately 4mm. Then, use all-purpose adhesive to secure the metal trim.
Inject silicone sealant into the top limiting groove, the base groove, and the joints of the door frame posts. Move the caulking gun at a uniform speed to create a straight line. Finally, scrape off any excess sealant.
Glass Installation: Use glass sealant in the top limiting groove, the base groove, and at the joints of the door frame posts. Move the caulking gun at a consistent speed to create a smooth, even finish. Glass butt joint (suitable for large doors): If the width of a single glass pane is insufficient, two or more panes need to be joined together. Leave a gap of 2-3mm at the joint. The glass cut edges need to be beveled. After filling with adhesive, smooth it to form a clean, straight line.
