The installation of an external glass door requires a precise construction process. The core steps include: positioning and marking lines, installing the limiting groove and base support, fixing the glass, installing the door clamp and floor spring, and final adjustment.
Positioning and Marking Lines: Based on the design drawings, uniform measurements are taken to mark the positioning lines for the glass door, determining the door frame position. Accurate measurements are taken of the ground, the top of the door frame, and the elevation of the middle horizontal frame to ensure accurate installation benchmarks.
Installing the Top Limiting Groove: The width of the limiting groove should be 2-4mm greater than the glass thickness, and the depth 10-20mm. Install according to the marked edge lines. Plywood shims can be used to adjust the groove depth to ensure smooth vertical sliding of the glass.
Installing the Metal-Faced Wooden Base Support: The square timber is fixed to the ground, and then the metal-faced panel is glued onto it using all-purpose adhesive. This serves as a support for the lower part of the glass, ensuring stability and aesthetics.
Fixing the Glass Panel: Use small square wooden strips to sandwich the thick glass panel in the middle. Apply all-purpose adhesive and then attach the decorative metal, ensuring the glass is firmly positioned and the edges are sealed.
Sealing with Glue: Inject silicone sealant into the top limiting groove, bottom support groove, and gaps between the glass and the frame. Scrape off any excess sealant with a tool to ensure waterproofing and a secure seal.
Installing the Floor Spring and Door Clamps: The floor spring must be embedded in the pre-drilled groove in the ground, ensuring it is coaxial with the positioning pin on the door frame beam. Use a plumb line for alignment during installation. Install the upper and lower door clamps at both ends of the glass door panel. If the height is insufficient, use wooden strips as shims.
Installing the Door Panel and Handle: Connect the door panel to the floor spring via the rotating pin. Adjust the positioning pin to ensure smooth opening and closing. Apply a small amount of silicone sealant before installing the handle to ensure it is secure and not loose.
